Taxation

Tax bills are sent by mail on or about January 15th each year.

Taxpayers in the Town of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts can pay their taxes in four instalments without interest providing the total amount of the tax bill exceeds $300. However, if the payment is late for any of the instalments, the «no interest privilege» will be terminated.  In this case, the total outstanding amount will be required and interest charges will apply from the due date and until the total amount has been paid in full.  NO INTEREST CHARGES WILL BE CANCELLED.

Due dates for 2010 municipal taxes

1st instalment:  Monday February 15th, 2010
2nd instalment:  Friday April 16th, 2010
3rd instalment:  Tuesday June 15th, 2010
4th instalment:  Monday August 16th, 2010

You may make payments for your taxes one of the following ways :

At most branches, through automatic tellers or on online services of most Canadian financial institutions ;

  • By post-dated cheques (by indicating the registration number on the back of the cheque) directly at our offices or by mail. If you choose this mode of payment we strongly suggest that you send all four cheques at the same time prior to the date of maturity of the first instalment;
  • By direct payment (Interac) or in cash at the counter at the town hall.
  • All payments must be received by our offices or paid to our account prior to the date of maturity. Please consider the time required for each of these payment methods.
  • If you have made an agreement with your mortgage provider for the payment of your municipal taxes you must provide them with payment coupons. The town of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts transmits to the mortgage provider which has been registered in advance, a list detailing, by maturity, the amount payable by the taxpayer.  It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are made on time.

 

Notice of change of address

Owners are required to inform the Town of all postal address changes. The town of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts will not be held responsible for the consequences of delivery of any correspondence or tax bills to a wrong address if it has not been advised in writing of the change of address.

A change of address notice can be submitted by mail, by fax 819 326-5784 or by e-mail to taxation@ville.sainte-agathe-des-monts.qc.ca  It is important that you specify all properties, with or without buildings, for which the change of address applies.
