Family Policy

As a result of a 20 month effort, the family policy project has mobilised many local and regional actors who discussed and pondered what was at stake, the orientation, the objectives and ultimately the necessary actions to put into motion for Sainte-Agathe families.

Like the majority of large municipal projects this first policy stems from a strategic plan put into motion by the municipal council in 2005. It confirms the town’s willingness to put into value the role of family, to contribute to its well being and to offer a quality environment to live in.

The family policy paves the way to the accomplishment of a plan of action which the municipal council thought ambitious but realistic at the same time. Spread over a 3½ year horizon, which means 2009-2012, this plan of action covers four fields of intervention which include development, housing, security and a dynamic living environment.
